Music became apart of me at a very young age. For as long as I can remember I've been writing and producing music within the walls of my mind and the four walls that surrounded me throughout the younger years of my life, as I was groomed by the Shreveport La streets in which I was raised. Trapped in a world of struggle, hardtimes, and everyday life in the world of ghetto pain, music was and is my escape, and in my opinion the light of the world. The true mirror to who we are and can be. Writing is something that I've always had the ability to do. It is my art, apart of the pictures I painted from the images that I saw daily, along with the many sounds from great artist that rest in crates in the back room of my house. I would read the lyrics and receive them as biblical for only God could have inspired those who inspired me. Great artist like; Charlie Wilson, Maze/Frankie Beverly, The Isley Bro, Bob Marley, Steel Pulse, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gay, Parliament, Cameo, Freddie Jackson, Mr. Hathaway and the list goes on and on. I would sit for hours listening, educating myself as I took every note and every word in as if it was the air that keep me alive.

Years of this education along with numerous opportunities inspired me to move forward with my level of creativity . As years past and complicated situation came and went. I was forced to rise even more. Teaching my self the piano, involving myself in studio sessions, and soon I became the singer, songwriter and producer that I am today. From north to south, from east to west I've perform on stages abroad. Hosting a sound of Southern Funk, Louisiana Jazz and blues, with a touch of Hip-Hop, as well as Reggae. God has blessed me, so that I might bless any and everyone who excepts my vibe. For all I want to do is feed your spirit and heal those who have wombs, and give back to the people what music should give. Love, Life, Peace amongst us all. Lets share harmony, as you enter into my harmonies and rhythms so that we might be as ONE............. I am JAKORI.
